APCOA's history
APCOA PARKING Denmark was founded in 1995 under the name EuroPark. Its first customer was Billund Airport, and APCOA PARKING continues to manage the airport's parking facilities today. The airport parking facility in Billund is one of the most modern parking facilities and has since been expanded from the original 4,200 spaces in 1997 to 13,500 spaces in 2021.
The EuroPark name is now part of APCOA PARKING's product portfolio and has been synonymous with efficient and professional parking control in Denmark for decades.
In 2019, APCOA PARKING acquired its competitor OnePark A/S Denmark. The acquisition helped to create an even stronger company by combining the best people, systems, and know-how from two talented companies.
APCOA PARKING is the market leader in parking management, both in Denmark and Europe. This position offers countless advantages for parking space owners, including in terms of purchasing, financial stability, and extensive know-how from the 12 European countries in which APCOA PARKING operates.
At APCOA, innovation is about removing hassle and providing a better experience for both parkers and space owners.
In 2011, we launched our first parking app – now known as APCOA FLOW. It is one of Denmark's cheapest parking apps and allows automatic payment in facilities with license plate cameras.
Two years later, we were the first in the country to introduce ANPR technology, which registers entry and exit and automatically calculates the price. The system ensures payment without the need for control fees – an advantage for both users and owners.
This was followed by digital parking permits, which replaced the old paper slips in the windscreen. Today, hospitals, hotels, and businesses can quickly issue temporary or free permits digitally, making everyday life much easier for guests and staff.
From apps to ANPR and digital solutions, we continue to develop the parking of the future – simple, efficient, and always tailored to people's needs.
Since 2000, APCOA PARKING Denmark has been part of the APCOA Group, Europe's largest parking company. APCOA is currently represented in 12 countries in Europe and has been operating in Europe since 1970. APCOA PARKING was originally founded in 1947 in Ohio, USA. APCOA stands for Airport Parking Corporation Of America.
