"Our driving and parking habits are constantly changing." - Michael Christensen, CEO of APCOA PARKING Denmark
At APCOA, we believe we have a responsibility to grow and develop in innovative, responsible and sustainable ways. This report is just one of the ways we will strengthen our commitment to our colleagues, customers, site owners, suppliers, local communities and the environment in which we operate in Denmark.
Our parking areas are at the centre of mobility as either the start or end point of a journey by car, bus, motorcycle or other forms of transport. At APCOA, we believe we can and do contribute to making the entire transport ecosystem as sustainable as possible.
That is why we have launched an ESG initiative across our European group centred on the three topics:
Environment
Society
Management
To help us drive the initiative forward quickly, APCOA Group has partnered with First Climate and has committed to measuring the relevant emissions across the Group early in 2022, calculated in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. Going forward, we will annually report our progress against our carbon reduction targets and the associated initiatives we have taken in our journey towards becoming carbon neutral.
Over the past decade, our sector has begun to change and embrace innovation at a faster pace than ever before. Parking and mobility are increasingly going hand in hand. Electric cars & charging, the use of solar panels, the implementation of ANPR systems and cashless payment options, micromobility and smart city digital solutions, parking as urban logistics centres are just some of the innovations across the sector. With autonomous cars, artificial intelligence (AI), the role of big data and sustainable energy sources on the horizon, the industry is likely to change even more.
We strive every day to ensure that we are the preferred sustainable partner for all our customers and can help improve their contribution to a better environment. We know that the best way to achieve our goals is through a responsible approach to business, and we are proud to be part of innovating towards a brighter future.
This report describes the innovations we bring to the table as a company that support our sustainability goals.
